Although these cases tend to get a lot of publicity, in reality problems arising on the day you are moving into your new home are actually very rare indeed.
However, one particular category worth highlighting arises when you have legally taken possession of a house but are delaying moving in for a period of time while work is undertaken.
Although Total Care Removals is arguably the most flexible removals company around, there may be times when even we may have to decline to allow our guys to enter your property for offloading. That might arise in situations where, in our opinion, the environment is potentially dangerous for them and the pursuance of their legitimate duties.
Examples there might be where building work is underway and floors are perhaps unsafe or hazardous chemicals have been used widely around the property for the purposes of fumigation and the specialists’ ‘safe by date’ has not yet been achieved etc.
We always recommend that, where humanly possible, you check that the property is ready for our vehicle and your precious items before our van leaves either your old property or the storage area to head for your new home. True, this sometimes involves a little toing-and-froing but it can avoid the risk of our staff being unable to do their job and offload your goods – however unlikely that might be.
In reality, it’s sometimes better to accept a short overnight in storage if it means you can be certain that your new property is 100% ready to go on the morning concerned.
